Vivi the Walloon__BRUSSELS MUSCLES 2

I drew four times as many Vivis as I did Utes. (1998). I guess Vivi was just more fun. Vivi went through many more design changes. Height and musculature varied a lot, but she was never to be bulky. Instead of being a giant, she had the physique of a strong acrobat or gymnast.

Double-jointed, she was a savate champ--used to kicking higher than her head and punching over her shoulder, doing everything with a restful, disinterested air. She never took the cigarette out of her mouth, and in a later concept, had a glass mineral water bottle that she never put down, despite all the punches and kicks. The bottle was always somewhere, balanced on her head, trapped in the crook of her elbow or knee, juggled or whatever.


Like Ute, her eyes never showed, but this was due to bangs.

Also, her dialogue, thought balloons and sound effects were all in French. I managed to collect a few French sound effects from a comic book: Clac, Gouax, Poum, etc. But they weren't enough.
