Description
Anime all the way. Paul Coker Jr.'s designs look a lot different here, and other designers had their influence on the show as well. KING KONG was not Rankin Bass' finest moment, but it did dare to show Kong as something other than a rampaging monster. For kid appeal, two young siblings were included in the show. Sue here was never as close to Kong as her brother, so it was tough finding a scene where she was held in Kong's paw.

Yeah, if I recall correctly, this series was the first production by an American producer to be animated in Japan.
I remember watching this as a youngster, and though I didn't see it very often, I remember liking it. Then, a few years ago, I bought two volumes of the DVD release of it and… was disappointed: it wasn't as good as I remember it being.
